Karen Kelly, U.S. Consul General, Osaka-Kobe will retire in July.

During her three-year tenure, Consul General Karen has attended the Members Social with U.S. Consul General and gave us valuable lectures, and has provided heart-warming messages for the pamphlet of the English Recitation Contest for High School freshmen sponsored by the association.
It has been a great help to the Association’s activities.

She will be returning to the United States after her retirement.
Her successor, Mr. Richard Mei, will arrive in August, and until then Mr. Colin Fishwick will be an Acting Consul General.

We have received a letter of greeting to Mr. Oyama, the president of our association, and we would like to share it with you.

I am also very grateful for the opportunities I had to meet with you and participate in the activities of the Japan-America Society of Kobe. Thank you for the opportunities extended to me to address the members of JASK and to take part in your activities over the past three years. These experiences increased my knowledge of Kobe and Hyogo Prefecture and I will return to the United States with many wonderful memories to share with family and friends. Thank you for your support to the U.S. Consulate General, Osaka-Kobe. Our U.S.-Japan relationship endures strong and unshakeable because the Japan-America Society of Kobe is an important part of it.
